“She is an expert presenter and facilitator”
Miriam has delivered outstanding Active Bystander Interventions sessions for us here at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology. She is an expert presenter and facilitator who skilfully steered us through the practical aspects to consider when being an active bystander. She explained the reasons why we often don’t intervene when we witness problematic behaviours and sensitively encouraged us to talk about personal experiences and to try out different ways to intervene using different scenarios in a bespoke scientific context.

“10 out of 10, would definitely recommend!”
Miriam responded to our initial request quickly and enthusiastically and was keen to understand who she would be talking to, what the issues might be and what kind of an approach would work. It was a large, diverse group and accessibility was very important. This care and attention to our specific needs, along with Miriam’s wisdom and engaging approach meant that the event was hugely successful. Miriam’s insights, illustrated with accessible data and informed by research, made us all think about our own personal biases and those of others. Miriam’s approach to the discussion, considering her own biases and how they were shaped by her own experiences, meant that we felt able to think about these things without feeling judged. There was a huge amount of discussion both in the session and afterwards and a lasting impact on those who attended. Thanks Miriam – we have your email address and will be in touch again soon for more! 10 out of 10, would definitely recommend!
